Parlor Games

All kinds of games, ready to play with family and friends!
Aside from larger events like Antwerp Palooza and TrustHunt, I also enjoy creating smaller games to play at gatherings, during christmas or as a personalised replacement for boardgames.

I have gathered and personalised games mainly to be able to play with family and friends!

Overbid

The group is divided into teams. Each round a different Captain is appointed for each team. The captains receive a category, without input from each team they take turns bidding on how many words within that category their team can name within 30 seconds.

If one of the captains don't believe the other team can name that amount of words... the bidding ends. That team will then have to prove they can do it.

Each member, including the team captain, will now say a word from within the category until one person fails or the time is up.

The host can dissallow a word at any point during the 30 seconds.

The other team gets a chance after to challenge certain words. The host has the final say.

Underbid

The Team captains will get to see a word in secret. Question is, how many words do they need to get their team to guess the correct word?

The captains will try to underbid eachother, the team who's captain bids the least amount of words will be the team that plays the game.

If the team isn't able to guess the word within 2 guesses, the other team gets the point.

The captains words will be strictly watched! No words like "The or An", no abbreviations, ... 1 Word is 1 Word.
Only words from the dictionairy are permitted.

Dick & Harry

Alternative title... Backwards Pictionary

Divide the group into teams of ideally 2. Each round the roles of the team members switch.

1 person will get to see a word and will describe with simple shapes to their teammember what they need to draw. The teammember, the drawer, will draw whatever is being described and try to guess what they have been drawing.

The person describing is not allowed to watch the drawing while the round is going.

Example case: The word is apple.

Person 1: Draw a red Circle. Ontop of that, draw a green rectangle that is longer than it is wide.

Person 2: Draws and guesses... A Ping Pong Racket.

This team will not be receiving points...

Tough Darts

Tough Darts is a cocktail of 3 classic games! Darts, Chutes and Ladders and an old time dutch boardgame "Geese board".

There are 50-100 squares on a Tough Darts board. (Depending on how long you want the game to last). Throughout the board there are Chutes, Ladders and Special "Action" squares. When you land on the bottom of a ladder, you climb up. When you land at the top of a Chute, you go down.

When you land on an "Action" square you do that action. This could go from "Throw another dart" to "Throw above a 14 with 1 dart". (Personalise with your own list of action squares or ask for my list at the bottom of this page)

The Dart board is your die, every "circle" is a number. Outer rim is 1, ...., inner rim (Bullseye) is a 6.

If you're playing with a small group it is possible to make your own custom board by taking turns adding a Chute, Ladder or Action square.
